Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Italy, H.E. Ambassador Mfawa Omini Abam, has attributed his miraculous healing from series of health challenges he suffered while serving the country as Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Italy as an act of God’s mercies on his life.
He made the revelation while testifying during the formal unveiling of the rebuilt Apostolic Church, Lewankom Assembly, in Ugep, Yakurr local government area of Cross River State, which he facilitated.
According to Ambassador Abam, he experienced a severe health challenge which required a surgery and took a huge financial toll on him.
“It got to a point I was programmed for surgery in Rome, Italy which was going to cost 22,000 Euros equivalent of Forty Eight Million Naira (N48 Million) at the time. Instead, i decided to use the money to build a place of worship for God’s people who have been twice disappointed and felt ignored when I took my late parents funeral services to other Assemblies.”
“ That is the reason behind my decision to rebuild this auditorium and expand it to accommodate more whorshippers.”
“It is my own way of thanking the Almighty God for healing me miraculously “, Abam said
The Area superintendent of Njelekoko, Pastor James.U. Solomon, thanked Ambassador Mfawa Abam for his generosity in rebuilding the church auditorium which was in ruins prior to his intervention.
He prayed that God will bless Ambassador Abam in every ramification of his life, body, soul, and spirit.
In his sermon, Pastor Solomon likened Ambassador Abam to the Centurion in Luke chapter 7 who built a synagogue. He talked on the topic; the man is worthy to heal the servant with text from the book of Luke 7 verse 3-5. He likens the personality of Ambassador Mfawa Abam to that of the scripture read and pronounced blessings on him and his wife for taking it upon themselves to rebuild the house of worship.
The thanksgiving service which held on August 24, 2025, featured a brief history of the Lewankom Assembly and was shared by Pastor Solomon.
He acknowledged the contributions of members who through consistent prayers and selfless services helped the Assembly to go through its challenging times.
He particularly acknowledged Papa Francis who donated his piece of land for the building of the Assembly.
Ambassador Mfawa Abam in his remarks expressed gratitude to his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs Ifeoma Abam, the children, brothers and sisters, relatives, friends and well wishers who stood by him during the difficult times.
