The Director, FCT Budget, Dr. Nanre Emeje, was, Wednesday in Abuja, presented with her certificate of listing and a copy of “Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women”, a biographical compendium on accomplished women leaders in Nigeria.

She is among female leaders listed in the 2025 edition of this annual publication that recognises outstanding women leaders in Nigeria.

This year’s sterling list of Nigeria’s foremost women leaders is a mixed grill of tech experts, pastors, politicians, teachers, activists, development practitioners, and C-Suite corporate leaders and it includes notable women such as among others

“Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women in Nigeria”, is Nigeria’s most qualitative compendium that profiles outstanding women across different frontiers and they include innovators, barrier-breakers, activists, top bureaucrats, captains of industry, and celebrities.

“The Nigeria Women Annual: 100 Leading Women” is the premier qualitative profiling of phenomenal women in Nigeria who have contributed to the development of Nigeria and the world.

It is a gender-specific biographical compendium that responds to existing gender gaps in Nigeria’s biographical documentation and leadership.

Now in its seventh year, the current edition is said to be the most qualitative biographical profile on Nigerian female leaders in 2025

In a statement by the CEO of Profiles & Biographies, publishers of the book, Kammonke Abam, said, “in publishing this compendium every year, we envision that we will continue to contribute to gender equality and women empowerment advocacy efforts towards filling the yawning gender gap in the leadership of Nigeria”.

“As in the previous editions, the array of women who made the list this year all have stories that are inspirational; which we hope, will inspire readers, especially young girls and boys, who constitute our primary target”, he added.

Dr. Emeje is recognised for her outstanding leadership in the public sector having served the country for close to three decades in different capacities.

Dr. Emeje was appointed the Secretary to the FCT-Secondary Education Board in September, 2017. As Secretary/Director FCT-SEB, she focused on skills development, where she introduced the annual Trade &
Entrepreneurship Exhibition in
Public Senior Secondary Schools
within the FCT.

Under her Leadership, approval
was granted by the Federal
Ministry of Labour and Productivity for Trade students to be given the competency test so as to receive a Trade Test Certificate.

Dr. Nanre Emeje who hails from Plateau State, Nigeria, attended the
University of Jos, Plateau State where she obtained both a Bachelor of Arts
degree in English and Master’s degree in Law & Diplomacy, in 1990 and 2001 respectively.

She was conferred with a Ph.D in April, 2022 from the CornerstoneUniversity and Theological Seminary, Jerusalem, Israel.

She was employed into FCDA in January, 1992 as a Personnel Officer
and by dint of hard work, she has risen to the rank of a Director.
