CR NUJ Chair, Bassey; Carnival Commission Chair, Onah, and UNICROSS Prof, Enamhe, make list of “Changemakers: 100 Nigerians Leading Change”

The Chairman of the Cross River State Council of NUJ, Archibong Etim Bassey; the Chairman of the Carnival Commission, Dr. Gabe Onah; and a Professor or Arts in UNICROSS, Prof. Bojor Enamhe are among eminent Nigerians that made the list of “Changemakers: 100 Nigerians Leading Change”, 2025.

Archibong Bassey who recently made news as the first woman to be Chairman of NUJ, Cross River State Council, was listed in recognition of her impactful career that takes her to difficult-to-reach communities to produce news reports, thereby beaming light into the plight of rural communities and drawing attention of the world especially those in positions of leadership to act and provide relief.

Dr. Gabe Onah was listed in acknowledgment of his outstanding pedigree in the tourism and cultural sector in Nigeria. A tourism czar, Dr. Onah has facilitated the registration of the Carnival Calabar Arts and Industry as a Trademark and expanded it to reflect a rich cultural content and flair.

Dr Onah’s efforts in the management of Carnival Calabar has been recognized by a 2021 CNN survey on the official global list as one of The five largest carnivals organized by The Most Influential People of African Descent Worldwide (MIPAD) alongside Rio Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, Nottinghill and Toronto carnivals.

In addition to his advisory roles, Dr Onah’s expertise extends to life coaching where he guides individuals towards personal and professional growth. He has extensively researched the creative economy as a strategy for job creation and economic development, contributing significantly to the field.

Prof. Bojor Enamhe is listed for distinguishing herself as a scholar and leader in the fields of Art History and Art Management at the University of Cross River State and who shapes the future of Visual Arts, ensuring its relevance and vitality in an ever-changing world.

With over two decades of academic and professional excellence, she has dedicated her career to the advancement of Visual Arts education, cultural preservation, and creative empowerment in Nigeria and beyond.

Her passion for nurturing young talent extends to school art workshops, where she inspires the next generation of creatives, as well as community-based art projects that bring together children, youths, and the elderly in collaborative cultural expression.

Her scholarly contributions include academic publications and creative writing, further cementing her reputation as a thought leader in her field. As a mentor, she has guided countless graduate students, many of whom now occupy influential academic and policy-making positions
worldwide.
